Women in general have a weakness for shoes or handbags and in some cases both. My weakness as a man has to be hats. Bowler, Top, Panama, Trilby, flat and even a Santa Hat. I basically have a hat for every single occasion and pretty much wear hats all the time except to bed and in the shower (shower caps don’t count).
So of course I was not going to turn down the opportunity to have a sneak preview at Christys’ AW15 collection. For those who don’t know much about Christys’ hats, well than you are in for a treat.
Over the last 242 years Christys have been making hats for Royals, politicians and celebrities as well as collaborating with other top British brands such as Mulberry, Ben Sherman and Paul Smith to name a few.
Christys’ have a hat for every occasion, be it formal, professional, sports or fashion. Christys is still one of the few British Milliners who still hand make their classic hats right here in the UK, with skilled craftsmen using the traditional hatting machinery.
But will Christys survive another 242 years? Well the answer is a simple yes. With creative director like the award-winning milliner, Noel Stewart who has designed hats for fashion elite such as Roland Mouret, Roksanda Ilincic, and Erdem at the helm, Christys is in capable hands.
At Christys Noel Stewart has already shown his artistic flair with the Crown by Christys which will be launching later this year. This fun, fresh fashion forward yet perfectly designed collection is the perfect way for Christys to say its definitely go to milliner.
But I have to admit seeing the Christys’ AW15 collection and the infamous large red hatbox with the “Christys London” name embossed in gold, I felt that this Quintessential British milliner where quality and craftsmanship still matter will keep on delivering beautiful hats.
You know you love me
