So its Valentines Day, love is in the air. You’ve booked the perfect romantic restaurant, bought her a lovely gift and of course a dozen red roses. But have you given much thought to what you will be wearing tonight?
Your Valentines date outfit is just as important as the booking the perfect romantic restaurant, buying her a lovely gift and a single red rose (a dozen red roses in my opinion is trying to much).
The colour Red is the color most commonly associated with love, and is closely associated with Valentines Day. Hence why Red is always a staple colour chosen by both men and women to wear on Valentines Day.
A typical outfit that most men choose for Valentines Day consists of the following:
Smart Black Blazer
Smart Black Trousers
Crisp White Shirt
Black Shoes
And of course a Red Silk Tie.
But than when you arrive at the restaurant its like you have turned in to a Stepford Husband. All the other men in the restaurant are pretty much wearing exactly the same outfit.
So here is my guide to the perfect Valentines Day outfit.
Your outfit should always have a statement piece. In this case I’ve chosen this gorgeous Lattice – Knit Cotton Crew Neck Sweater by Oliver Spencer. Not only is a great colour, but it is also beautiful made. Plus don’t forget it’s still cold outside so it will actually keep you pretty warm. The best part is you can actually wear this again.
To team this sweater I’ve added a pair of Black Toxic Pipe Jeans from All Saints. Now I love All Saints skinny jeans. Not only do they fit really well, I find that they have great pockets and the cut is pretty good too.
Chelsea boots should be a staple piece in your shoe cupboard. I’ve chosen a slight twist to the classic Chelsea Boot. The Paul, two-tone Beatle Boot from Russell & Bromley. These navy suede with contrasting burgundy elasticated side panels go perfectly with this outfit. It has to be said, that if you want reasonably prices shoes, that stylish, and will last for year go to Russell & Bromley. You will be amazed at what they have.
And finally no date would be perfect if you of course didn’t pay for dinner. Rather than rattle around in your wallet for the correct amount, why not pay by card. Its quick, easy and least of all not tacky at all. But for that you need the perfect card holder. Go for the Burgundy cross – grain leather card holder by Burberry. A truly sophisticated piece.
So there you have it my guide for a comfortable, stylish yet relaxed outfit for Valentines Day.
Wishing you all a happy Valentines Day
