The ‘C’ Word …

You may have noticed that it’s been a while since my last blog post (too long), and it’s all because of The ‘C’ word. First of all it not the c word that most of you are thinking of, so let’s get your dirty minds out of the gutter. For me the C word is CANCER. When most people hear this word they instantly think equate it to death. I was one of those people. Late last year I found out my father was diagnosed with a type of cancerous tumor near his heart and lungs. When my family and I first heard the C word it hit us like a ton of bricks. However rather than feel sorry for us and for our dad we stayed positive and decided to be there for each other and our dad. Our positive attitude must have of paid off. Not only was my dad’s operation a success, but also the nurses and doctors at The Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS Foundation Trust, especially support from The Macmillan Cancer Support, provided him with the best care and attention.

So it’s now my turn to help support Macmillan Cancer Support, in a few months time I hoping to host a Night – In party, instead of 30th birthday party (god I don’t feel 30). I’m also booking tickets this weekend to go to the Hear No Evil Festival, where every penny raised will go to support Macmillan Cancer Support. Hurry because when I last checked there was on 44 tickets available.

If you can think of any other ways for me to raise money or support Macmillan Cancer Support please do let me know, and please do share your own stories regarding the C word.

I’d like to say thank you to all my friends and family for their great support, I don’t say it enough but you know I love you all. And I pinky promise I will be blogging a lot more now.

 You know you love me
