Its been exactly 100 years since Chanel was first launched, and to celebrate it 100th Anniversary, creative director Karl Lagerfeld has released his short film about the infamous icon Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel.
The short stars the newlywed Keira Knightley as Coco Chanel whilst French actress Clotilde Hesme co-stars as Coco’s aunt and confidante Adrienne.
Set in the holiday town of Deauville and shot entirely in black and white the film celebrates the brand’s centenary by taking a look at the first ever store (financed by Chanel’s lover Arthur ‘Boy’ Capel), in the seaside resort of Deauville in 1913.
With guest appearances from famous Chanel people such as Stella Tennant, Tallulah Harlech, Saskia de Brauw, Lindsey Wixson, not forgetting of course Lagerfeld’s adorable godson, Hudson Kroenig, as Coco’s nephew.
But of course lets not forget the many men in Chanel’s life many who feature in the short film. Like they say behing every successful woman there is Played beautifully by Jake Davies as Boy Capel, Brad Kroening as Étienne Balsan Saig Ollvier as the French cariacturist Sem. Even model Baptiste Giabiconi makes an appearance as Eduardo Martinez de Hoz.
After seeing all the beautiful clothes worn by these handsome men, its high time there was a Chanel Menswear line. Than it really will be a happily ever after.
