The number of new electric car registrations in Germany rose almost 44 percent to around 36,000 in 2018, . Given the year’s total of 3.44 million new car registrations, the share of pure electric vehicles rose to one percent, while plug-in hybrids reached 0.9 percent. The share of petrol cars rose to 62.4 (2017: 57.7) percent, while diesel’s share fell to 32.3 (38.8) percent.
