WMO:
Global climate predictions show temperatures are expected to continue at or near record levels in the next five years, increasing climate risks and impacts on societies, economies and sustainable development, according to a new report from the World Meteorological Organization (WMO).
EU Commission:
A European Commission assessment shows that the EU is currently on course to reduce net GHG emissions by around 54 percent by 2030, compared to 1990 levels, if member states implement fully existing and planned national measures and EU policies.
Reuters:
European Union countries backed plans to scale back the bloc's carbon border levy to cover just 10 percent of the companies currently covered by the scheme, on the grounds that these firms account for nearly all of the emissions involved. The proposal must still be negotiated with the European Parliament.
