Copernicus Climate Change Service:
Multiple global records were broken, for greenhouse gas levels, and for both air temperature and sea surface temperature, contributing to extreme events, including floods, heatwaves and wildfires.
Met Office:
2024 was the warmest year on record globally and the first year that was likely more than 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.
Wind Europe:
Wind energy provided 20 percent of all the electricity consumed in Europe last year but not enough new wind farms are being built on the continent, said industry association Wind Europe. Urgent action was needed on permitting, grids and electrification.
