Like most men, I think owning a motorbike would be very cool. Getting on my bike, driving through the open country, stopping at one of those cool biker diners. Wow I think I need to get out more.
Since it will be a while before I will own a Harley its best I concentrate on the ideal biker look without looking like Glenn Hughes from The Village People.
Instead you want to look like Marlon Brando from the movie The Wild Ones. Where he wore a Perfecto-style motorcycle jacket and a tilted cap leaning against his 1950 Triumph Thunderbird 6T now that’s the image of a cool Biker I prefer.
Now if you don’t own a Triumph Thunderbird, doesn’t mean you can’t dress the part. To do that you need the perfect biker style jacket. . The Black Leather Quilted Biker Jacket from Topman is perfect. Not only is it made of real black real leather it also has quilted shoulders. Plus its very similar to the Perfecto jacket that Brando wore in the movie.
Team the jackets with a basic cotton tee like the Milas Scoop T-shirt from All Saints
No Biker look would be complete with out a nice pair of jeans. The Acne Ace Cash Slim-Fit Jean from Mr Porter, is perfect choice. Not only are they versatile the fit and cut is pretty good. Of course the only thing I would suggest is to turn up the jeans up so they sit nicely just above your boots.
Boots there are endless example of what works well with this look. I prefer a pair of good old fashioned Dr Martens 1460s.
And finally to give it a modern twist rather than adding a biker hat, I prefer to finish this look off with a black beanie hat. Like this one from River Island.
So there you have it the perfect Biker look. So now I’m off to spend the rest of the day watching the Wild Ones and daydreaming riding on top of Triumph Thunderbird.
